How the Weighted Grade Calculator Works
A weighted grade counts heavier items more. Each grade is multiplied by its weight, the products are added up, and the total is divided by the sum of the weights. That gives the single percentage your coursework currently averages to.
The formula
current = Σ( grade × weight ) / Σ( weight )
needed = ( target × (W + R) − Σ(grade×weight) ) / R
where W is the weight already entered and R is the remaining weight still to be graded.
The target solver
Enter the overall grade you are aiming for and the weight that has not been graded yet. The calculator returns the average score that remaining weight must earn. If it asks for more than 100, the target is out of reach; a negative figure means you have already secured it.
