Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Plain Calculators (“we”, “us”) handles information when you visit plaincalculators.com (the “Site”). We keep data collection to a minimum and never sell your personal information.
Calculations stay on your device
All calculators run locally in your web browser using JavaScript. The numbers and values you enter into any calculator are processed on your own device and are never transmitted to, stored on, or logged by our servers. We cannot see the figures you calculate.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically record standard technical information in server logs — such as your IP address, browser type, device, referring page, and the date and time of your visit. This information is used to operate the Site securely, diagnose problems, and understand aggregate traffic. It is not used to personally identify you.
Cookies
The Site’s calculators do not require cookies to function. Cookies may, however, be set by the third-party services described below. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time.
Advertising
We may display advertisements served by third-party advertising networks, including Google AdSense. These partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and personalize ads based on your visits to this and other websites.
- Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other sites.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings.
- You can opt out of many third-party vendors’ cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices or youronlinechoices.eu.
Analytics
We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate, anonymized usage — for example, which calculators are most popular. Any such analytics report totals and trends, never the contents of your calculations.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR (EU/UK) or CCPA (California), including the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we may hold and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. Because we do not build personal profiles, such requests are typically limited to server-log or advertising data. To make a request, contact us.
Children’s privacy
The Site is intended for a general audience, is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
