Time and a half is 1.5 times your regular hourly rate, the standard overtime pay for hours over 40 in a week under US federal law. Multiply your rate by 1.5 for the overtime rate, then by the overtime hours for the extra pay. At $20 an hour, time and a half is $30 an hour.
Overtime rules and thresholds vary by state and job, and some roles are exempt, but 1.5× over 40 weekly hours is the federal baseline.
overtime rate = hourly rate × 1.5
