Area measures the space inside a two-dimensional shape, in square units. Pick a shape and this calculator shows just the measurements it needs — a rectangle takes length and width, a triangle takes base and height, a circle takes the radius — then applies the right formula.
All the classic formulas are here: rectangle (a×b), square (a²), triangle (½·base·height), circle (πr²), trapezoid (½(a+b)·h) and parallelogram (base×height). Keep your measurements in the same unit and the answer is in that unit squared.
