The Chinese gender predictor is a centuries-old bit of folklore that guesses a baby’s sex from the mother’s age and the month of conception. This version uses the well-known formula — 49 plus the conception month, minus the mother’s age, plus 19 — and calls it a boy if the result is odd, a girl if even.
It’s purely for fun. There’s no scientific basis, and the real odds are close to 50/50 — only an ultrasound or genetic test can actually tell. Enjoy it as a game, not a prediction.
number = 49 + conception month − age + 19 (odd = boy, even = girl)
Note: an estimate for general guidance, not medical advice. Your doctor or midwife knows your situation best.
No — it’s folklore with no scientific basis. The real chance is about 50/50. Only an ultrasound or genetic test can determine sex.
It combines the mother’s age and the conception month using a traditional formula and calls the result boy or girl. It’s a game, not science.
Usually via ultrasound around 18–20 weeks, or earlier with a blood test (NIPT) from about 10 weeks.
