Volume measures the space a three-dimensional solid holds, in cubic units. Choose a solid and this calculator asks only for the measurements it needs, then applies the standard formula: box (length×width×height), cube (a³), cylinder (πr²h), sphere (4⁄3πr³) and cone (⅓πr²h).
Keep every measurement in the same unit and the result is in that unit cubed — cubic inches, cubic feet, litres and so on. It’s handy for tanks, containers, shipping, concrete and science problems.

By the shape of the solid: a box is length×width×height, a cylinder is π×radius²×height, and a sphere is four-thirds π times the radius cubed.

Use the cylinder formula for a round tank (radius and height) or the box formula for a rectangular one, then convert cubic feet to gallons if needed.
