How the Shoe Size Calculator Works

Shoe size comes from the length of your foot. Stand on a sheet of paper, mark heel to longest toe, and measure in centimetres — measure both feet in the afternoon and use the larger. US men’s size is roughly three times the foot length in inches minus 22; women’s runs about 1.5 sizes higher for the same length; EU sizing uses the Paris-point scale.

These are close approximations — brands and lasts differ — so use the result as a starting point and allow a little room for comfort.

US men ≈ 3 × foot length(in) − 22 · women ≈ men + 1.5

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I measure my foot for shoe size?

Trace your foot on paper standing up, measure heel to longest toe in centimetres, and use the larger foot. Enter that length.

What is the difference between men’s and women’s sizes?

For the same foot length, women’s US sizes are about 1.5 numbers higher than men’s.

Are these sizes exact?

They’re close estimates. Actual fit varies by brand and shoe shape, so treat the result as a guide.
