A percentile marks the value below which a given share of the data falls — the 25th percentile is the point a quarter of the values sit below. This calculator sorts your numbers, then uses linear interpolation between the closest ranks to find the value at any percentile you choose, along with the three quartiles (25th, 50th and 75th).
Percentiles are how test scores, growth charts and income brackets are reported. The 50th percentile is the median; the gap between the 25th and 75th (the interquartile range) describes the spread of the middle half.

The value below which a given percentage of the data falls. Scoring in the 90th percentile means you did better than 90% of the group.
Sort the data, find the position at percentile × (n − 1), and interpolate between the two nearest values. The calculator does this for any percentile.
