How the Cost Per Mile Calculator Works
The running cost of driving comes down to cost per mile. Fuel is the easy part: gas price divided by MPG. Add a per-mile allowance for maintenance — tyres, oil, brakes and repairs, often around 8 to 15 cents a mile — and you have a realistic figure for what each mile actually costs.
Multiply by your annual mileage to see the yearly total. It’s useful for budgeting, comparing vehicles, pricing gig-driving and deciding whether a longer commute is worth it.

How do I calculate cost per mile?
