A biweekly paycheck is your annual salary divided by 26 — the number of two-week pay periods in a year. A $52,000 salary comes to $2,000 gross every two weeks. Biweekly is not the same as semi-monthly (twice a month, 24 checks), which produces slightly larger but less frequent paychecks.
This shows the gross figure before taxes and deductions. Two months a year have three biweekly paychecks, a handy budgeting quirk.
biweekly pay = annual salary ÷ 26
Divide the annual salary by 26 pay periods. $52,000 is $2,000 every two weeks.
No — biweekly is every two weeks (26 checks); semi-monthly is twice a month (24 checks).
Because 26 biweekly checks don’t divide evenly into 12 months, two months each year contain three.
