How the Time Card Calculator Works

Enter your clock-in and clock-out times for each day, an unpaid break to subtract, and your hourly rate. The calculator adds up the hours across the week, splits them into regular and overtime (anything over 40 hours, paid at time-and-a-half), and works out your gross pay. Overnight shifts that clock out after midnight are handled automatically.

Leave a day blank if you didn’t work it. Everything is worked out in your browser — nothing is saved or sent — so it’s a quick, private way to total a weekly timesheet.

gross = regular hours × rate + overtime hours × rate × 1.5

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the time card calculator handle overtime?

Hours over 40 in the week are counted as overtime and paid at 1.5 times your regular rate, the standard US rule.

Does it handle overnight shifts?

Yes. If your clock-out time is earlier than your clock-in time, it assumes the shift ran past midnight and adds the extra day.

How is the break subtracted?

The unpaid break in minutes is subtracted from each day you worked, before the weekly total is added up.
