The midpoint of a line segment is the point exactly halfway between its two endpoints — the average of the x-coordinates and the average of the y-coordinates: ((x₁+x₂)/2, (y₁+y₂)/2). For the points (1,2) and (4,6), the midpoint is (2.5, 4).
